Now I have a little time to spare for updating my blog, I'd like to show you some clips that I took when we went to Cebu for it's 3rd Agility tournament! I had so much fun AND ate a lot! CHEERS to Cebu, CHEERS to PDAA!

01.19.12 & 01.30.12 Kahati, George and Myself
My new Idol Mr. George Baker had a seminar on agility in Betterdog Canine Behavior and Training Center last January 30, 2012. There he showed us simple exercises that will make a big difference in your training sessions and will greatly affect you and your partner dog's performance come competition day!
He also gave each and everyone of us personalized tips on working with our very own partner dog's challenging aspects like re-activity and focus! Simple but effective tips only a true veteran can give!
Thanks Mr. Baker!

After almost 2 years of friendship,
Ogie... laid an egg.
A brief background... Ogie is one of the 2 birds given to me back in May 2010. I immediately gave him eerrr* HER a guy's name since I though he looked masculine side by side with the female bird I called REGINE...
Now I'm having my doubts on Regine's gender too... Hehe!
Introducing, Kahati...

Meet Kahati (Shareholder in English) my 2nd canine companion and a promising athlete. I called him Kahati since he now shares my love, time and attention with Alab

Kahati was rescued from an environment no living thing would want to be in. An environment so bad he broke his right hind leg. He's fully recovered now and loves doing agility as you can see in the pic

Thanks to my friends who rescued him and allowing me to be his guardian. I am also celebrating his 1st birthday this November :)
Watch out for more on Kahati and the rest of my animal companions here ;)

(04.15.10)
I'm preparing for my 1st full marathon hopefully on December of this year... I still don't have a proper program to follow and even if I had one, I don't think I'll be able to go through it anyways.
For now, I will (try) to write write just about anything that will help me reach my final goal and that is to (at least) finish my 1st evahhhh full Marathon!
I also plan to make this run just a little bit more special, so I'm stirin' up a little somethin' somethin' on the side...
also stay tuned for that.
But that's all for now, I have to start doing something to help me get me physically and mentally prepared for this!

Meet Alab!!!

on Saturday, March 27, 2010

Today is ALAB's birthday! and as promised in the previous blog that I wrote announcing his existence which you can read by clicking THIS, here you will find the entry about his full story!
You have read about my cats and now it's time to post about my new (youngest) child, his name is ALAB (Blaze in English.) Formerly known as Caesar, I decided to give him a Filipino name, after all he is an Aspin (Asong Pinoy / native dog of the Philippines)
Contrary to his name that suggests power and strength, Alab remains sweet and gentle, a perfect companion dog for my senior folks. But wait till he sees her sister Sheba ay nako! that's when he bursts into flames with excitement! He'd play with her sister all day long! So cute to see them both!
Me and my friends/mentors, started training Alab when he was just around 2 weeks old, it took me forever before I finally decided to adopt him. He was the only one left in the shelter, all his brothers and sisters were already adopted, then a fellow volunteer of mine said someone was already interested on taking him, I said "that's it! I'm taking him home!"
Here's my attempt to tell the story through photos. Here it goes...
*Here is the first picture I took of him at home, it's his first 24 hours in the Feliciano household. More importantly, it's his first 24 hours of having a permanent home.

*Maybe a week after that, I brought him back to the shelter wearing his new collar! From the pictures you can already tell that he was a shy dog. look how small he is! Such a tiny little thing :)

*Months later I decided to have him neutered since he's starting to mark and I hate it! I bring him in the office and it was embarrassing how he was painting the corners yellow with his spray! Special thanks to Dr. Wilford Almoro and kuya Khevin for doing the procedure!

Today March 28 is his birthday and he is one year old! I know I've said this a thousand times before but I'll say it again... I have yet to write about what I do for a living and Alab is a big part of it! He actually is my co-worker or office mate but from a different department! So watch out for that!
Also, wait for his birthday party pictures soon!

I Survived the Maturity Test!
Posted by
Brad Feliciano
on Tuesday, November 17, 2009
I crossed path with 2 people I wasn't ready to see just last night... Knowing Brad (that's me!) my initial reaction would be to get really mad and just go somewhere quiet. BUT I DIDN'T! yes! I stayed and did not get mad and went through the night gracefully! I'm so proud of myself!
Going through it wasn't easy it was painful to see them again, I just want to clarify, I'm not mad, just hurt. but I think I know the reason why I surprisingly acted differently... more mature in a sense...
#1. The 2 people involved in this story (aside from me) were good friends of mine. I'm hurt really really bad but I'm way passed being mad... yes I was mad but I can't stay mad at them forever cause I still care for them, I'm everything but a hypocrite so believe me you two, I still love you both.
I miss telling stories with the girl sitting at the passenger seat of my team captain's car whenever we hitch a ride with him, that was fun! totally miss that.
And the guy? he's just the person I dear the most. That should explain it right?
#2. Second reason and maybe the biggest reason would be the death of my Cha-Cha... she (for 10 long years) was my world, she was by best friend, my first born child, she'd listen to my boring stories when no one else would. She comforts me like no other blanket could. That's why I love you so... There can never be any experience in my life that could be more painful than your passing. You have been gone for a year now and your still helping me out. You made me stronger now I have improved as a person, and that's all because of you love.
What I'd give to see you in my dreams every night love, your always, ALWAYS in my heart.
Sorry guys, no pics on this, just some mini achievements and drama...

The cats that rescued my family (Anniversary Post)
Posted by
Brad Feliciano
on Sunday, September 20, 2009
On February 2, 2009, I heard crying kittens very near the are where my computer is which is also near the windows, hoping their mom gave birth outside our house, I called our girl to check where exactly where the mom and the kittens are so we can give food and water. It was after 30 minutes of looking till we figured out the mom delivered in our ceiling.
On February 14, 2009 at 7 am, I was on my way to manila for a shoot and noticed a small cute cry outside our kitchen, I went out and I immediately saw a cute kitten that I instantly named "Una" (first) there was no question that me and my family will adopt her so given that, the name "Una" really fits since she's will be our first official cat... we've had stray cats before that my parents feed. but because of our previous dog companion, they just choose not to stay... by the way, I took a picture of what I saw and here it is!

Thought that was a surprise? wait till you hear this... after a long day of tiring but fun shoot with Ateng Faye... I arrived here at home at 4:30pm, only to find out that there's 3 of them! yes 3 kittens! first I didn't notice since they all blended in the stuff that was about to be thrown away! but yeah! my count was correct! there's 3 of them! to show you how they exactly look like when I saw hem, again I took a picture!

From then on I immediately called them "Val Len, & Tina" (L-R btw, the cat on the right was formerly "Una") since I saw them on valentines day... It was so hard because first, I knew I was going to be the one in charge of taking care of them even though I had no experience on feline parenting hehe! (I was up for the cahllenge though!)
The very first weekend they spent with us as an official part of the family, one of my siters excitedly drove her way just to see the latest members of our household! (or new owners!?!!? hehe!)
my sister suggested to revice the name a littlebit and drop a syllable, change "Tina" to "Tine" since she was the only one who had a 2 syllable name... ok then I said. and here are the pics of that fun fun day playing with them! consider it our first family day!
("TINE" had the first solo pic above so its just right to give this space for the 2 others! hehe!)
I forgot to say that Val was the most fierce of the 3, she never let me carry her without her hissing me into fright. Till now she still is the most ferocious... she tries to drive away other cats beiliving the space now her own... it wasn't too long though before we earned her trust and win her out of hissing towards us when we go near her or try to carry / feed her...
Again, to others, Val was the most masungit! even to other people! even to the vet that performed their operation! yes I had them operated (spay) just last June, preventing them to heat and finally leave our house in search for a mate and produce dozens of babies.
Here are some of the pictures I took when I had them spayed...

They are now full time indoor cats since May 21, 2009, bought them a litter box, baskets and a whole lot of rags to sleep on and play with! or should I say murder! haha!
Going back to my family, I never thought we'd have pets again since Cha-cha died... My family decided not to have pets again beacuse it was just hard to face the fact that they will cross the rainbow bridge in the future no matter how much love you give. death is just simply unavoidable.
3 long months of mourning had past and here came along 3 kittens that literally fell from above and saved me and my family from further depression and utmost sadness.
to date, Val, Len and Tine are the love of our lives... they taught us not to be afraid to adopt new pets and love again.

Missing 2nd of 4 runs and dog training!

Wont be able to attend tomorrow's run (May 24) The 3rd Auto REVIEW Run for Road Safety & Courtesy my 2nd of 4 installments since RBC and I will have our own important stuff to do tom!
I got invited to join a birthday party of my professor's son and also, classmates turned good friends Faye and Pam invited me to shoot some pictures in the afternoon! to top it all off, I'll be training dogs tomorrow morning! what a way to start your day right! I spent practically the whole afternoon with my partner dog (Rich)
A brief history, Rich is the 2nd most ferocious dog in the shelter and I was the only one who dared give him a chance to walk around on leash... at my own expense of course... I was helped by Kevin by getting his attention and I took over after that. I bathed him last week (May 16) and today (May 23) with medicated soap that he so love, and after that we spent 4 hours walking around the shelter! Tomorrow will be another fun day for us both!
This has nothing to do about running but it is another thing I LOVE doing... on second thought, I'm slowly introducing jogging to him hhhmmm...
