Skincare for runners! (Men and Women)

How many blogs have I checked and so far no blog has ever said anything about skincare… but I can always be wrong, who knows, there might be a lot of sports blog out there that already talked about skincare oh well, here’s my share of information about skincare.

Running under the sun is a no-no! No matter how early it is in the morning the terrible situation of our ozone layer can no longer protect us from the harmful effects of the sun, it’s what gives athletes doing outdoor sports pre-mature wrinkles and discoloration that will eventually make us look like a hag when we reach the age of 30 or even sooner. hehe!

I’m no fan of sun blocks, the stickiness and the way it stings our eyes when mixed with perspiration is just enough reason to stop me from applying some on my skin. BUT WE NEED IT!!!

However, if you insist on not putting on some sun, make sure you put on some night cream, BRANDS ONLY MATTERS WHEN YOUR ALLERGIC TO IT!!! And it doesn’t mean it has to be EXPENSIVE!!! Anyway my favorite night cream (for 2 and a half years now) is this… “The Body Shop” rich night cream with vitamin e”

I know this is P700 and expensive for most of us, but this was only supplied to me by my aunt who lives in Australia, nevertheless, not being able to afford any of these creams doesn’t mean we should stop doing something about it right? Why not try something as cheap as baby oil? Or a small amount of petroleum jelly? The whole point is to moisturize.

But before putting on some cream at night we have to clean our faces first! I only used ordinary soap and water, then I use this… “Eskinol facial cleansing for men (anti acne with dremaclear c)” to remove dirt that water and soap cannot get rid of, so after thoroughly cleaning your face then you put just a small amount of night cream or whatever moisturizer you have… BTW, the “Eskinol facial cleansing for men” only costs P34 and I bought mine almost 2 months ago, you just have to use it once a day (preferably at night) not bad right?

And lastly for the whole body (hands, arms, legs, feet) I use “BCBGirls by Max Azaria, but I prefer “Johnson and Johnson” line of hand and body lotion” really! It just so happened that my mom had a bottle of BCBGirls and that’s what I used! See I’m really cheap! I use whatever is available haha!

Marathon Conquerd!!!

This is what welcomes you at the end of the race! my official time? 1:07.22 baby!

Yes, I finished the "PMI...Proudly 60!...Run"10K marathon that I ran last Sunday...I was 20 minutes late for the on-site registration so I was not an official runner
of the event, but the organizing staff were so nice that they allowed me to run together with the registered runners!

Of course there were cute runners who joind! my crush was a tall fit guy wearing tights! and apparently he was a celebrity and (according to my friend) he was also a basketball player and his name was BJ Manalo! even my colleagues knows about him! owell... hehe!

Now there were also water station of course and I just happened to know ALL OF THEM!!! they see me everywhere but its in a marathon that they'd least expect me to appear!

super thanks to them the run seemed to be easier!
funny that they were cheering for me and calling my name, it wasnt that embarrassing for when they cheered for me calling my name Brad! Brad! Brad! nobody knew my name anyway till one of them (Xtian) said, "Ang ganda naman nung naka black!" then everyone looked at me and malicious smile! hahaha!

Aissa, my Aissa, the fistime i passed their station I dint see her, when i was a few meters away she yeled "GO BRAD I LOVE U SIS!!!" ang saya! its always super nice to hear people cheer for you its so different back when I was still swimming because you don't see the people cheering for you while swimming and you only hear them each time you get some air...

OK so I'll try to recall their names, in no particular order! Aissa, Migs, Peng, Calro, Carla, Jenny, Bullet, Cherry, Xtian, Jamel, Peds, Daniel, Chlods! (and to those who's not included, my apologies...)

This is what I looked like right after the run...

Here's the only memorabilia I had of the event, the straws are the one given every 5k of the race to tell weather 1st or final K, and the tape that has my name on it is my bag tag. it was supposed to be a set of number (race number) but since I wasn't reg
istered they just wrote my name in the bag deposit area.

SUPER FUN GUYS! I'M LOOKING FORW
ARD TO MY NEXT RACE!!! SALI TAYONG LAHAT!!!

I'll be a runner!

Last September 7, I went to our sport complex just t
o photo shoot for my journalism assignment then I said why not run a few rounds around the oval like 5 rounds? ridiculous rite? well I'm not that much of a runner and my legs aren't meant for running, but its one of the cheapest way to stay fit and permits me to continue heating fatty food! I said maybe I'll try running a 10k marathon again, the fist time i ran a marathon was way back in '06 it was too much for me, physically I was ready but mentally I wasn't. I said I'll be preparing myself for my next marathon but then I got excited!

I saw from my friends blog that there was an upcoming marathon tomorrow. 3 and 5k was just for special people so I'm down with the dreadful 10k Sunday last week i tried running 10 laps of a standard size oval (400 meters) so lets do the math, 10 laps is only 4k, I finished in less than 30 min. (yes I even looked for my old watch and had it putt on new batteries and kept track of my time) when i finished the 10 laps, i was staring at the pro runners who just strides like a gazelle, so stable, so swift, and their even trying to speed up yet, this afternoon I tried to run 10 laps again this time I tried running like the ones I saw last week, the technique did me well, preventing myself from doing extra movements gave me focus on my speed and less drag too! tomorrow is my debut, I'll run a 10k marathon again and hope I wont get burnt out... will definitely write about it asap... Ready? Get Set... GO!
